Dr. Hachemi “Hach” Aliouche presented his research “The Conundrum of Social Franchise Financing” at the 10th International Conferences on Economics and Management of Networks (EMNET) held in Palermo, Italy in September.  The biennial EMNET conference serves to promote communication and awareness among researchers in economics and management. The multi-day conference provides a forum for academics to present current research and to discuss issues of common interest.

Hach’s presentation discusses the similarities and differences between commercial vs social franchising; the two formats are not necessarily mutually exclusive in key areas. Two case studies are included which show the societal impact being made in this emerging field. Hach’s franchising research continues to position RIFC as a thought-leader in franchising research, education, and outreach.
