Professor of Decision Sciences Chris Shea has retired from UNH Paul College after many years of service. She joined the Decision Sciences Department in 1994 as an assistant professor of operations management. Since arriving at UNH she has been an invaluable member of the faculty helping to facilitate the success of the DS department, the college, and the university. Most notably, in the DS department, she held a variety of leadership positions (e.g., chair of P&T and faculty recruitment committees) that were key in helping to shape the future of the department. She also represented the department on the faculty senate and other important committees, including the college Curriculum and Evaluation Committee.  At the college level, Chris was instrumental in developing and directing programs such as the Master of Science in the Management of Technology, the first online MBA program, and the Whittemore School’s Women’s Leadership Development program.  Between 2008 and 2012 Chris also served as the associate dean of graduate programs and research and led a successful assurance of learning effort required for AACSB reaccreditation. At the university level, Chris was the Interim vice provost for faculty development and nclusive excellence and the special assistant to the provost for UNH ADVANCE. During her tenure at UNH Chris has been the recipient of numerous awards including the UNH Outreach Scholar Award, Kidder Fund Faculty Award for Diverse Community Leadership, and the Board Member of the Year Award from Homemakers Health Services, just to name a few. Although Chris retired as professor of technology and operations management this past May, we are delighted that she will continue to be actively engaged with the university in her capacity as lead principal investigator on the National Science Foundation UNH ADVANCE grant and look forward to our continued interactions with her.
