MBA students Paul College

At this month’s MBA information session, we welcomed MBA alumni Christina Lentz ‘19G and Robb Atkinson ‘19G as well as current student (and soon-to-be alumna!) Hillary Flanagan who shared their experiences from the program with prospective students. Despite the blustery weather, we had 13 attendees join us from a variety of industries, including military, insurance, manufacturing, higher education, and civil engineering.

MBA coordinator Andrew Mitchell moderated the student panel where they discussed what drew them to the program. Christina Lentz, Quality Control Supervisor at Lonza, shared how our AACSB accreditation was key in choosing Paul College: “I researched schools, and the reason that I chose UNH was for your accreditations. I researched what to look for in a business school, and it seemed to be a good fit for me. I was able to switch industries – that’s what I was looking to do, and it was successful for me.”

A career switch was a common factor among our alumni. Robb Atkinson, Managing Director at Millennium Agency, shared how a shift in management led him to apply to our MBA program: “I did television most of my life. I was a television news director and I worked all over the country. I worked for CNN, CNBC, and then I started in NH1 news in New Hampshire. It was going great until it got sold and I didn’t have a job. I was wondering what I should do next, and it all unfolded that I should go through the UNH MBA program and it was transformational and probably the best thing I did in my life.”

As a current MBA student in our part-time program, Hillary Flanagan discussed the many opportunities the program offers her: “I think this program offers a really cool, diverse, network that you can build. Not only within your class but within your actual company. There are directors and senior VPs at my company that are also taking this program. I was able to sit side by side on a team and work with a director that I probably would never have spoken to in my life, and it brings you back to the same playing field.”

We appreciate our students taking the time to join us for this panel and answer questions for prospective students. If you are considering earning your MBA or know of someone who is considering our program, join us at our next MBA Information Session on November 7th at UNH Manchester. You can also reach out to our Graduate Programs Office for an individual program overview at paulcollege.grad@unh.edu.
