Paul College Major and Option Declarations

Students in Paul College must have a declared Major and/or Option by February 15th of their sophomore year. 

Students whose major is Business Administration must declare an option within Business Administration. Options allow students to specialize within a discipline.

Please follow the instructions below to declare or change your major within Paul College. You can only make a change to your academic record once per semester.

Declaring a major and/or option

Major changes and option declarations are submitted in Webcat

Your major and/or option declaration will be reviewed and approved by the Undergraduate Programs & Advising Office once the request has been submitted

  • It typically takes one to two business days
  • Once your request is approved, you'll see the change reflected in Degree Works

How to declare your major and/or option in Webcat

Example: You are currently an Undeclared major and would like to declare Economics

1. Log into Webcat. 

2. Select Student Records → Change of Major → Change Major/Option. 

3. Click your current major (next to “Change 1st Major/Option”). 

4. Choose a new college and then new major from the list of options. When selected, click “Submit the Selected Major/Option.” 

5. Confirm your major change request by clicking “Confirm Request.”  

6. If your major change request was successfully submitted, you will receive confirmation that it is being processed. 

Example: You are Business Administration Major and would like to declare your option

1. Log into Webcat

2. Select Student Records → Change of Major → Change Major/Option 

3. Click your current major (next to “Change 1st Major/Option”). 

4. Choose Paul College and then new major from the list of options (Business Administration: Your intended OPTION)

5. When selected, click “Submit the Selected Major/Option.” 

6. Confirm your major change request by clicking “Confirm Request.”  

7. If your major change request was successfully submitted, you will receive confirmation that it is being processed. 

Example: You have already declared your first option in Business Administration and would like to add a second option

1. Log into Webcat 

2. Select Student Records → Change of Major → Change Major/Option. 

3. Click “NONE” (next to “Add or Change 2nd Major/Option”). 

4. Choose a new college and then new major from the list of options. When selected, click “Submit the Selected Major/Option.” 

5. You will be asked to confirm your major change request by clicking “Confirm Request.”  

6. If your major change request was successfully submitted, you will receive confirmation that it is being processed.
