"I choose Paul College because of Jeffrey Sohl. Jeff probably doesn't know who I am, but in 2017 Jeff and one of his students gave the most amazing presentation at admitted students day. The passion he had for teaching and the excitement he projected... I wanted to be in a place where professors were like that. And let me tell you, Paul College has not let me down.
My favorite thing about Paul is definitely the breakout rooms. I love that business students have access to such great study spaces–that are only available to us!
This semester compared to previous years has been... weird. It is very different on campus, but it's not all bad. Yes, we aren’t gathering for a tailgate or Cab bingo in the GSR. But I have been spending so much time outdoors compared to the past four years. Eating meals, gathering with friends, and studying–all outdoors! I love the tents placed all around campus. It's quiet here but as the weeks go on I am just grateful we are able to be here. But I am looking forward to getting back to the way it used to be.
My advice to all students: be open to trying new things. I went into college thinking I would enjoy the same activities I did in high school, and that just wasn’t the case. I just didn't get the same joy out of those things. But after my first semester I got involve in something completely new and ended up loving it. So don’t be afraid to try new things, meet new people– and, most importantly, to let go. High school was fun while it lasted, but you will know when it is time to move on.
One thing I really harp on when I talk about UNH is that the professors here are not teaching you out of a textbook. They have their own professional experiences and bring guest speakers in. It really just makes you feel prepared for when you graduate."
