Pinterest Happy New Year 2021

Deborah Merrill Sands

I send my warm wishes to our wonderful Paul College community for the holidays and the New Year.

As we close out the fall semester, I want to thank everyone for your extraordinary efforts to give our students the best possible on campus experience possible given the constraints imposed by the pandemic.

This has been a year like none other, and for many of us this has likely been the most challenging year of our professional careers. When I think back to last March when we did our amazing pivot to remote teaching and work, I am struck by how much we did not know and how much was even beyond our imagination. But, nonetheless, we did it then and we did it even better this fall!

Our community came together with a strong sense of purpose, ingenuity, flexibility, caring, and resilience. And I am confident that those same qualities will carry us through the spring of 2021 as well.

As we welcome in the New Year, let us remember that hope is on the horizon. The vaccine is rolling out across the country, offering the prospect of being able to step out of our Zoom boxes and come back together in the fall with some semblance of normalcy.

Please take some time to rest and get restored. We have more than earned it. Take care and be well.

Deborah
