A staff event was held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 to connect and strengthen the Paul College community. (This event was the result of responses from a staff survey in fall 2019). Approximately 42 staff attended from many departments.To 'plant the seed' for inter-departmental bonding, staff participated in team building activities with opportunities to connect, share some laughs and get to know each other better. A taco lunch was included from Las Olas.
During a trivia activity, there were 7 teams working together to answer facts about Paul College. Team names consisted of Paul in the Family, Paul Slackers, Paula College, Peter T. Prodigies, PentaPaul, Paul So Hard and Paulettes! Some of the fun fact questions were “What is the name of the instrument that Peter T. Paul uses during every senior toast?”, “Which undergrad program option has the most students?” and “Which kitchen item was banned when Paul College first opened?” It was a three-way tie between Paul Slackers, Paul So Hard and Paul in the Family with Paul Slackers winning in the tiebreaker. Very exciting!
Opening up the event was an Bingo card ice-breaker activity where staff had to ask each other personal facts such as “Was a boy scout or girl scout growing up”, “Has steered an airplane” and “Has never been hospitalized.” At the end of the get-together, each person was entered in a drawing for “VIP parking for a day” at Paul College. Lucky winners were Annie Connors, Tamara Rury, Rebecca Barbour, Stephanie Kirk and Patti Rousseau. Be sure to congratulate them next time you see them!
