Four faculty members from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics recently presented their research and served in leadership roles at the Academy of International Business (AIB) U.S. Northeast (USNE) 2024 Conference, held October 4-5 at Suffolk University in Boston, MA.

Professor Ermira Zifla chaired a session and presented her research titled "Navigating Trust, AI, and Independent Fact-Checking for Online Medical News." Her work explores the critical intersection of artificial intelligence, trust, and medical information in digital environments, addressing challenges in the dissemination of health-related content online.

Professors Tom Gruen and Alison Chen contributed to the conference as track chairs. Professor Gruen led the International Marketing session, while Professor Chen oversaw the Global Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations track. Both provided valuable guidance by reviewing and managing session submissions in their respective areas of expertise.

Professor Jun Li, who serves as President of the AIB USNE Chapter, played a pivotal role in overseeing the conference's organization and execution. In addition to his leadership duties, he participated as a panelist in the Teaching Café session "Integrating AI Tools into IB Teaching and Learning", and shared insights how artificial intelligence is changing the educational landscape in international business.

AIB USNE is the largest U.S. chapter of the Academy of International Business, covering a broad region that stretches from Maine to Virginia, with a recent expansion to central states such as Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. This year’s conference, themed "Global Connection and Artificial Intelligence," drew 135 scholars from 15 countries to attend.
