The MSA Financial Leadership in Accounting Pathway (MSA FLA) recently celebrated its first cohort of students with a vibrant kickoff event held at The Venue at Portwalk Place in Portsmouth.

It was a memorable evening filled with networking, games, and delectable snacks, setting the tone for an exciting journey ahead.

Students were greeted with a dynamic live game show, which provided lively entertainment and an opportunity for friendly competition. The event also featured a warm pretzel station alongside a delightful selection of passed hors d'oeuvres.

Most importantly, the event offered students invaluable networking opportunities with representatives from the five sponsoring firms: PwC, EY, BerryDunn, Nathan Wechsler & Company, and Baker Newman Noyes. This interaction gave students a glimpse into the professional world and provided insights into the diverse career paths available in the accounting field.

The MSA FLA Pathway stands out as a unique opportunity for ambitious students aiming to fast-track their accounting careers. Within 4.5 years, participants can earn both their undergraduate degree with an accounting option and a Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). The program, tailored for high-achieving accounting students, offers an accelerated master's program that not only saves time and money but also provides hands-on experience. It sheds light on the pivotal role financial leaders play in guiding the day-to-day operations and decision-making across various industries.

The kickoff event was a fitting start for the first cohort of this innovative program, embodying the energy and opportunity that lie ahead for these future leaders in accounting.
