The Financial Policy Center is welcoming Scott Sorensen, a Paul College alum, to a fireside chat hosted by fellow Paul alum Colin Kelley.

The fireside chat will be held on Friday, May 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 175 at Paul College.

The pair will answer student questions and discuss Sorensen’s career in wealth management and what those entering the industry can expect from their careers.

“The Wealth Management business has evolved from simple, fragmented pieces of transactional advice to deep relationships of trust and skill required to solve confidential and often complicated financial matters. It is not as simple as traditional financial planning and investment management anymore,” Sorensen says.

Vigilant Wealth Management has Portsmouth, NH, and Portland, ME offices. It is a private wealth management firm focusing on “progressive investment and wealth planning solutions.”

Sorensen is a principal and founder of Vigilant Wealth Management. He is a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee and Executive Committee when he is not serving clients as a portfolio manager. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA® Institute. He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant® designation and is an American College of Financial Planning member. Sorensen earned a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from the University of New Hampshire and lives in Greenland with his wife and children.

Kelley is a wealth advisor for Vigilant and lives in Hampton with his family. Before joining Vigilant, Kelley worked at Prime Buchholz LLC, where he helped lead several data visualization and analytical initiatives. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and completed the Data Analytics Certificate Program at the University of Chicago. Kelley is an active community member at UNH, serving on the Dean’s Advisory Board of Paul College, Vice President of the UNH Alumni Association, and Adjunct Lecturer at UNH, teaching courses in investment valuation and personal finance.
