Dr. G.T. Ozer recently presented his teaching innovations at the highly regarded INFORMS IT Teaching Workshop at Boston University. This workshop discussed advancements in the education of business students, particularly those pursuing undergraduate, MBA, and specialized master's degrees in information technology and business analytics. The event brought together distinguished speakers from renowned business schools such as Harvard, Columbia, UT McCombs, and UPenn Wharton to share and exchange knowledge and insights.

Ozer's presentation focused on the revolutionary hackathons he developed and uses in DS 810, DS 772, and ADMN 872. These hackathons center around the emerging field of multi-armed bandits/reinforcement learning (RL) and predictive modeling. It is worth noting that McKinsey, a values-driven organizaition with a mission to help their "...clients make distinctive, lasting, and substantial improvements in their performance and to build a great firm that attracts, develops, excites, and retains exceptional people" has identified this area as the next big thing in business analytics, as highlighted in their insightful article.

This excentuates a sense of pride in UNH Paul College having one of the few business analytics programs that cover RL in our MSBA curriculum.
