We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Griffith, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Management, as Paul College’s inaugural Morrison Faculty Fellow in Diversity.
Her activities in the role over the next three years are underwritten by the generous gift of Wayne and Nancy Morrison, both proud UNH alums. Wayne Morrison ‘76 is actively engaged in the Paul College Dean’s Advisory Board and the DEI task force of that board, as well as many other UNH alumni service roles, while Nancy Morrison ‘76 is a COLA alum.
Dr. Griffith has been a highly engaged member of the Paul College Diversity & Inclusion working group since its inception in early 2018, leading the group’s early work analyzing diverse representation in college curricula, the annual FIRE program introduction to diversity and inclusion, and facilitating faculty workshops on inclusive teaching strategies, among many other initiatives. Her research on social cognition and workplace phenomena such as leadership, sexual harassment, and gender-leadership interaction is highly relevant to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion and grounds her leadership in this area.
She was recently honored as UNH’s 2021 Outstanding Assistant Professor, in recognition of the combined impact of her research, teaching, and service contributions. Dr. Griffith also writes occasionally for Forbes.com on issues related to gender and work.
In the new Morrison Faculty Fellow in Diversity role, Dr. Griffith will lead the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives within Paul College, as well as represent the college on UNH-wide committees and commissions working in this domain. This will take the college’s DEI efforts to a new level; we look forward to sharing more details as Dr. Griffith takes up her new role!
