Career Outcomes of 2019 Graduating (Undergraduate) Students

CaPS just released its First Destination Survey Report for our 2019 graduating students.

I am very pleased that we had another good year of career outcomes of our 2019 graduates with a 95% placement rate for those students seeking employment. We see an increase to 94% of students reporting that their job is related to their major. 87% report that they are satisfied with their post-college plans and feel adequately prepared for their jobs. The percent of students reporting at least one internship dropped somewhat to 82%, but of these 49% received full-time job offers. Also, the average salary rose 4% from last year to $51,833, reflecting the strong market and, I believe, the increase in quality of our employers. The data on our performance indicators over time is captured in the chart below.

Please join me in congratulating our CaPS team for their excellent work in counseling our students and creating a great experience for our employers. Many thanks to all of our faculty and staff who work with our students to advise, prepare, and support them in their search for high quality and meaningful jobs after graduation.
