Michelline Dufort

Director, Center for Family Enterprise
Office: Center for Family Business, Paul College Rm 265C, Durham, NH 03824

Michelline Dufort, the organization’s Director since September 2017, comes from a background of leading membership business associations in the fields of technology, hospitality, and non-profits. She was active in government affairs on a national level in many of her roles. Doing such has allowed her to become highly effective in understanding business challenges and complexities and she enjoys nothing more than building membership organizations to meet those needs and interests. She attributes her attraction to family businesses to her childhood as the granddaughter of Leo Sprague, the founder of the Tru-Stitch Company, a successful shoe and slipper manufacturing company in the early to mid-1900s in New York state.

In her spare time today, she serves as the Chair of the Granite Visiting Nurses Association and on the Concord Regional Healthcare Governance Board of Trustees. Depending on the season, she can be found on the hiking or ski slopes or driving her boat on Lake Winnipesaukee. She is a frequent commentator on business issues and contributor to many business publications, including the Wall Street Journal. Michelline has two daughters, one of whom is an incoming freshman at UNH, which feels very full circle.
