ECenter Kicks Off a Packed October of Events

October is shaping up to be a busy month at the UNH Entrepreneurship Center (ECenter), with four events offering opportunities to launch a business idea, learn from experienced entrepreneurs and make new professional connections.

Here’s what’s coming up:

From Dorm Room to Revenue — Oct. 1

Have an idea for a side hustle but aren't sure how to get started? Students can learn how to turn their skills, knowledge and interests into an online business during a hands-on session using Whop’s platform.

The event runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the ECenter, 21 Madbury Road. Dinner will be provided.

Learn From a Five-Time CEO — Oct. 6 

UNH alumnus Patrick Sweeney ’89, a five-time CEO and investor in more than 75 startups, will visit the ECenter for a conversation about leadership, entrepreneurship and building companies people believe in.

Sweeney is also the author of “The Founder’s Creed,” and 10 attendees will receive copies of the book.

The event runs from 12:45-2 p.m. Oct. 6 at the ECenter. Lunch will be provided.

Buzzworthy Businesses — Oct. 7

What does it take to build a business in an industry facing regulation, stigma, funding challenges and rapidly changing consumer trends?

Local founders — including UNH alumni — from the spirits and cannabis industries will share their experiences during 

Buzzworthy Businesses: Spirits & Cannabis — High Growth. High Stakes. Real Founder Stories.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the ECenter. Dinner will be provided. Attendees must be 21 or older and bring an ID to participate in the spirits tasting.

ECenter Opportunity Exchange — Oct. 22

Students and Seacoast-area young professionals can wrap up the month by expanding their networks — and perhaps finding their next mentor or mentee — at the ECenter Opportunity Exchange.

Hosted by the ECenter, Paul College Career and Professional Success and Catapult Seacoast, the networking event runs from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 22 at Tideline Public House, 15 Newmarket Road, Durham. Light appetizers will be provided, with a cash bar available for attendees of legal drinking age.
