When I was a freshman I was nervous putting on business casual clothes. Nowadays, I don't care. Throw me in a blazer and I'll talk to anyone!
Hospitality, for me, means communicating. It highlights the relationships that you share with people. I love that you can apply it to any industry – and the program at Paul is so small and tight-knit. I immediately felt at home here.
I've thrived and flourished as a person these last four years.
I credit Chef Ron with a lot of my success. He really sealed my decision to come here.
I met him at ASVD and thought, "Wow. What a great role model. I bet I could learn so much from him." And I was right!
Shoutouts also to Dan Innis and Krista Marvel.
Maybe this sounds weird, but I love the ambiance at UNH. The campus just gives this very welcoming and open feeling.
The architecture, the integration with Durham, having access to so many mountains and nature trails. That's not something I grew up with.
I'm a little bit of a workaholic, but I do like going out for adventures!
Paul isn't just an academic building – it's a community.
And I'm really going to miss being surrounded by so many supportive people. Everybody that I've met here, especially professors, is so hands-on and dedicated to learning.
The classes that I've taken are so experiential! You're not just sitting there the whole time getting lectured to. You're actually learning what it's going to be like in the real world and industry.
I've met so many people that I know I'll talk to for the rest of my life. And I cherish those friendships. I'll never forget the people that I met here.
I've always dreamt about graduating college, but now that it's literally here...it feels bittersweet. But I'm ready.
Paul has made sure of that. On the horizon for me: the Omni Parker House, a luxury hotel in the heart of Boston.
My advice – don't be afraid to just be yourself from day one. If you do that, you'll find yourself. Your people.
Honestly, I'm so proud of myself for sticking to who I am and going for things that I've always wanted to do.
