Paul College Ranked #59 in Poets&Quants Best Undergraduate Business Schools
Dear Paul College community,
I am pleased to let you know that we did quite well this year in our undergraduate business (including hospitality management) ranking from Poets&Quants for Best Undergraduate Business Schools. We came in at #59. This is a slip from #55 last year, but I it is still a solid ranking given everything that has been going on with COVID and UNH. For those of you newer to Paul College, we focus on the Poets&Quants ranking because it is data-driven as compared to US News undergraduate business rankings that are purely peer assessment. Additionally, Poets&Quants for Undergrads surveys our students to get feedback on their experience at the College and we usually do well in that respect. Among public universities we were the second highest ranked in New England, just behind UMASS-Amherst and well ahead of UVM, and #24 among the public universities on the list.
We ranked higher than our overall ranking in career outcomes (#50) and academic experience (#51). From the survey of our 2019 alumni, we continued to get a strong “A” grade on the classic Net Promoter Score question of whether they would recommend Paul College to a close friend or colleague (higher than UMASS-Amherst (B+) which is our biggest competitor in the undergraduate space). We also scored well on faculty mentoring and accessibility as well as quality of teaching, opportunities to improve “soft skills” in business, the role of extra-curricular activities in helping students hone their business skills, academic advising, and efforts to bring students into close contact with practicing professionals, including alumni. Our weaker areas are admissions (with respect to selectivity), the cost of tuition, and connections to our alumni network. Poets&Quants for Undergrads will post a profile of Paul College on its website in the next couple of weeks.
When we started pursuing rankings in 2016 our goal was to break into the Top 100. We have done that across several rankings and now we have set our sights on breaking into the Top 50. I had hoped we might reach that goal this year, but I am confident that the College will cross that threshold in the next couple of years. Congrats to all of us – faculty, staff, students, and alumni – for doing the hard work of focusing on innovation and continuous improvement as we seek to give our students an excellent experience and generate high quality research that makes an impact in our fields.
Sharon Keeler wrote a great article on our ranking which is published on UNH Today. The UNH Paul College LinkedIn did a post today with the article. Please be sure to like it and share it so that we can get some visibility on the ranking. Please use hashtags #Paulpride, #BBA, #Businesmajor
