Join us for an exploratory conversation on why the 2020s are pivotal as we work towards building thriving economies, ecosystems, and communities – and how businesses and governments are responding and moving forward in a time of significant social and cultural change. Speakers will draw insights from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and share real-world examples of public and private sector leadership and investment.

Guest Speakers:

Anne Finucane '74 has regularly been named to Forbes’ and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in the World lists, along with American Banker’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking. She is currently Chair of the Board of Rubicon Carbon. Until her retirement as Vice Chair of Bank of America, she was responsible for leading Bank of America’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts, which promote socially conscious investments. As a member of Bank of America’s 14-member executive management team, Finucane was responsible for global strategic positioning and oversees its public policy and capital deployment. Finucane also led the company’s $1.6 billion Community Development Financial Institution portfolio and chaired the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.

 

Dr. Jennifer Jenkins '98 Ph.D. is the Chief Science Officer at Rubicon Carbon, leading the development and approval of carbon offset methodologies and new approaches to ensure quality and reliability. In 2007, she was part of the IPCC team of scientists that won the Nobel Peace Prize for their work on climate, along with former Vice President Al Gore. Dr. Jenkins led the work that culminated in the “Jenkins Equations,” the widely accepted method for estimating tree biomass from diameter in the US. She has a technical background in carbon cycling and ecosystem science and over 25 years of experience across government, academia, and the private sector. She holds degrees from the University of New Hampshire, the University of Maryland, Yale University, and Dartmouth College.
