Balance Sheets and Balance Beams: Developing Future Financial Leaders

Accounting (MSA) Financial Leadership in Accounting (FLA) Pathway group shot

The UNH Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) Financial Leadership in Accounting (FLA) Pathway took leadership learning outdoors this month with another inspiring day at The Browne Center.

The second cohort of MSA FLA students immersed themselves in a series of hands-on, experience-based leadership challenges designed to strengthen communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills — the same core competencies that drive success in today’s accounting and finance professions.

Set against the Browne Center’s scenic 100-plus-acre campus, the day encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, connect as a team, and discover their individual leadership strengths. The laughter, energy, and “aha” moments throughout the day proved that leadership development can be both impactful and fun.

This event was made possible through the continued support of the MSA Advisory Board and its sponsoring firms — PwC, EY, Baker Newman Noyes, BerryDunn, and Nathan Wechsler & Company — whose partnership helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.

The MSA Financial Leadership in Accounting Pathway offers high-achieving UNH undergraduates the opportunity to earn both their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting Option) and Master of Science in Accounting in just 4.5 years. The program integrates advanced coursework, professional development, and leadership training to prepare students for meaningful, future-focused careers in accounting and financial leadership.

Onward and upward, future financial leaders!
