Senior Lecturer Promotions for Mike Hanlon, Scott Lemos, and Andrew Seal
Please join us in congratulating Michael Hanlon, Scott Lemos, and Andrew Seal, who were all recently approved for promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer, effective August 2023. These promotions are based on comprehensive dossiers prepared and submitted for review and decisions at both department and dean’s office levels.

Michael Hanlon (Finance) joined Paul College as a lecturer in 2016 after gaining over two decades of experience in the financial investments industry and nearly ten years here as an adjunct faculty member. He has made valuable contributions to the Master of Science in Finance program by designing the new FinTech course, and each year teaches many sections of the required finance option course on investment analysis. He draws on his extensive professional background in serving as co-director of the Peter T. Paul College Financial Policy Center, which is central to the engagement and development of finance students beyond the classroom. Mike earned his MBA here at the University of New Hampshire and his BS in Finance from Bentley University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and serves on the investment committee at York hospital.

Scott Lemos (Management) joined Paul College in 2017 as a lecturer for the Department of Economics after completing his PhD in the department. Scott’s broad interests in business and economics and expertise in pedagogy have enabled him to teach in a number of disciplines, and in 2019 he became a lecturer in the Department of Management. In this role, he co-designed the re-imagined Introduction to Business (ADMN 400) course to better align with the rest of the Paul College curriculum. Scott remains active in both pedagogical and disciplinary research with recent publications in Environmental Management and Agricultural and Resources Economics Review and several other papers in progress. He has also generously shared many of his pedagogical innovations with other faculty. Scott earned both his PhD and MA In Economics right here at Paul College and his BS in Finance and Business Administration from Bryant University.

Andrew Seal (Economics) joined Paul College in 2017 after completing his PhD in American Studies, teaching business and economic history, a discovery course, for the Department of Economics. Some of his many contributions to Paul College and UNH include serving as the coordinator for the Paul College writing program as well as on the Faculty Senate where he served as Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. In addition to his teaching and service responsibilities, Andrew maintains an active research pipeline that has yielded two book projects as well as several articles and book reviews. Andrew earned his PhD, M.Phil, and MA in American Studies at Yale University and his BA in English and Religion at Dartmouth College, and has pursued advanced training in the history of capitalism and political economy at Cornell and Duke Universities.
Please join us in congratulating Mike, Scott, and Andrew on their well-deserved promotions and their many contributions to Paul College!
