"If someone told me three years ago that I would be the co-founder of a company that's raised over $70,000... I would have called them insane."

Paul College student smiles, leaning on a table. Booth seating is blurred in the background. She is wearing glasses, a pink sweater, and has strawberry blonde hair.

INTEREST & ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT UNH 👩‍💻

Paul Scholar | Hamel Scholar | UNH ECenter | UNH Housing & Residential Life RA | Dean's Ambassador

When I was a high school student, I had no clue what I wanted to do in college. Science didn't appeal to me, but I knew I liked math, so I thought business might be a good fit.

A Surprising Choice: Why I Picked UNH

Initially, UNH wasn't my top choice for college. I toured schools in Boston and worried that if I didn't attend a prestigious university, I might not land my dream job after graduation.

Boy, was I wrong!

Thanks to the valuable experiences and support I received at UNH, I've already secured a job offer from PwC, one of the Big Four accounting firms, after graduation. UNH got me exactly where I needed to be.

A Supportive Community

Once I arrived at Paul, my professors quickly convinced me that I had made the right choice. Karen Conway's microeconomics class and Scott Berube's accounting courses sealed the deal for me.

Accounting might seem intimidating, but with the right guidance, it's not as difficult as you might think. It's challenging, sure, but in a rewarding way!

I was initially worried about making friends at such a large university, but Paul itself is relatively small, and the community is incredibly supportive.

Hands-On Learning and Real-World Experiences

What truly sets UNH apart are the practical, hands-on experiences it offers. The UNH ECenter (Entrepreneurship Center) was a huge part of my college experience, allowing me to become the CFO and co-founder of HydroPhos Solutions, a company that has raised over $70,000 so far!

Pitching our company at competitions like SVIC, Maurice, Holloway, Draper, and e-Fest pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. It was an incredible learning experience, and I'm still in awe of what we've accomplished.

UNH really encourages you to step out of your comfort zone and explore all the university has to offer.

I've made incredible memories and grown tremendously in confidence during my time here.
