"My involvement on campus has really shaped who I am as a person–and it’s also helped me discover a lot of passions that I didn’t know that I had. I'm the VP of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, a Peer Advisor for FIRE, an Employer Ambassador for Paul CaPS, a Zumba Instructor at campus recreation, and a proud Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Why UNH: When I came to see campus, I got lost and a random student offered to help me. Even though he wasn’t required to tell me anything about UNH, he totally sold me on the school and gave me SO much information. That’s when I knew that this community was my community and I was going to fit in really well here.
Favorite memory: Right after my first year I was chosen to become an orientation leader. UNH in the summer is really quiet, so you get to experience and discover all these things you don’t when you’re busy during the year. I loved talking to incoming students and made some forever friends with other leaders. Went hiking for the first time! That summer was honestly one of my best experiences here.
My Little Sister from Big Brothers Big Sisters has had a big impact on me. Seeing her once a week since freshman year, I’ve been able to watch her transition into a teenager and see how her confidence has changed. I’m just there for her, listening, trying not to be this unapproachable adult! She calls me one of her best friends.
Favorite class: Intro to Exercise Science. I was never a super athletic person in high school, but this class helped me learn that I actually really love fitness. That’s why I went on to become a Zumba instructor!
I’m going to miss so much about UNH. From the small things, like the good food on campus, to the bigger things like the people. Definitely my brothers in AKPsi. They’re my closest friends, and we really do epitomize the word brotherhood. And my roommate! We actually met through orientation and now she’s my closest friend. It’s going to be hard to not have everyone just down the street.
It’s been my best four years to date. I’d stay forever if they’d let me."
