10 Years of MAC SMAC: Conversations That Turn Into Careers
What started as an idea to bring marketing professionals to campus has grown into one of Paul College’s signature events — and a launchpad for student careers.
As MAC SMAC celebrates its 10th anniversary, alumni are reflecting on the connections that began with a simple introduction.
For Julia Pelosi ’17, a conversation at the inaugural MAC SMAC led to her first job offer in new product development. Today, she works at Chewy, helping brands navigate retail media advertising.
Brady Marchewska ’18 credits a brief interaction at MAC SMAC with helping him get his foot in the door at IBM. “Even a short conversation makes a difference,” he says. “If someone has met you before, even briefly, they’re much more likely to respond when you reach out later.”
And for Skyler North ’25, a casual discussion with a panelist opened the door to her current role at Area 23, a healthcare marketing agency in New York City.
