Wishing Clayton Barrows well in his retirement

Clayton Barrows, newly minted Professor Emeritus of Hospitality Management, joined UNH’s faculty in 2006. Prior to his retirement this past May, Clayton served as department chair from 2010 to 2014 and 2020 to 2021, guiding the department through a crucial period of transition. He has worked in the hospitality industry and hospitality education in the US and Canada for over 30 years. Clayton has also been an active member of several professional hospitality organizations including the Club Managers Association of America and the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE). In 2008, he was named the winner of the 2008 Stevenson W. Fletcher Achievement Award from I-CHRIE. He also serves as editor in chief of the International Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Administration and is the author of Club Management: The Management of Private Membership Clubs. Clayton’s commitment to colleagues, students, and mentorship will be missed, and we wish him well in his next chapter!
