UNH Women in Business Conference Inspires Future Leaders

UNH Women in Business drew more than 200 attendees to its annual Women in Business Conference on Feb. 21. This year’s theme, “The Power Shift,” highlighted the unique challenges and achievements women face in traditionally male-dominated industries.
Accomplished leaders shared their success stories and offered actionable strategies on negotiation, preparation, and navigating power dynamics.
Keynote speaker Lauren Kane, CEO of BioOne, delivered an inspiring address on success and professional growth, which was followed by a fireside chat with UNH President Elizabeth Chilton.
During her address, Kane shared valuable insights, saying, “Be bold. Take chances. Don’t fear failure, fear standing still.”

The morning panel sessions featured:
- Success Stories: Case Studies: which showcased real-world examples of overcoming industry barriers.
- Her Path Forward: which focused on preparing the next generation of women leaders.
- Business for a Purposeful Future: which explored how mission-driven leadership creates meaningful impact.
In the afternoon, interactive workshops provided attendees with practical skills in negotiation tactics, team leadership and setting healthy boundaries—tools that will serve them throughout their careers.
The Women in Business organization continues to empower and educate its members on relevant issues. Students can join the group biweekly on Thursdays from 3:40 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the MUB.
Thank you to all the panelists, supporters and dedicated student organizers who made this event possible.
