As part of the official inauguration weekend for the Hamel Honors and Scholars College at UNH, Honors alumni returned to campus to connect with current students during 43 Hours with the Hamel Honors Scholars.
On Saturday, September 28, Professor Dev Dutta led a two-hour Human-Centered Design workshop, engaging both current and former Hamel Scholars in a dynamic session. The participants were divided into groups and guided through a fast-paced, hands-on process aimed at generating creative solutions to the grand challenge of global waste generation, with a particular focus on the Durham campus.
The workshop was well-received, with participants praising it for being both insightful and practical. The feedback highlighted how the session helped them develop a designer’s mindset—an essential skill for addressing complex global issues like waste management.
