Paul College Awards FINAL reminder - nominations due next Thursday, February 24
Dear All – this is a reminder to submit your nominations. We already have several for the staff award of excellence and we have 4 student nominations – but no other nominations – so please submit them!
Dear Faculty & Staff,
It is that time of year again and the Dean’s Office is kindly requesting nominations for the Paul College Awards for the 2021-22 academic year. The awards, descriptions and criteria are listed below. Please email all award nominations to Debbie Hensley by Thursday, February 24, 2022.
We hope to have at least one nominee from each department for each award. The awards will be presented on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the faculty & staff year end celebration.
Paul College Student Excellence Award
This award recognizes a graduating senior on the basis of overall excellence in academics, leadership, service, and character. There will be a financial component to the award (merit only; financial need is not a consideration). Nominations reflecting the diversity of students at Paul College are strongly encouraged and faculty may nominate more than one student. The criteria of the award:
• Graduating senior (May 2022/September 2021/December 2021).
• Superior academic achievement.
• Demonstration of excellence in leadership, service, and character during time at UNH and Paul College.
• A nomination letter (Word, PDF), submitted via email to Debbie Hensley.
• Student’s resume.
• UNH records of the students will be consulted as part of the review/selection process.
The PAUL College Scholarship and Awards Committee will review nominations and make recommendations to the Dean. The Students will receive their award at the Paul Student Excellence Awards this spring.
Paul College Dean’s Staff Award of Excellence
This award is presented to a PAT or OS staff member in recognition of outstanding performance and distinguished service to the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics. The criteria of the award:
• A nomination letter (Word, PDF), submitted via email to Debbie Hensley.
• Nominees should have completed at least three years of service.
The nominations will be reviewed by a committee consisting of the Dean, the Associate Deans, the Director of Finance & Planning, a Department Chair, and the SAC Chair.
Paul College Excellence in Teaching Awards
These two awards recognize exceptional teaching by Tenure Track Faculty and Non-Tenure Track Faculty. The criteria of the awards:
• A nomination letter (Word, PDF), submitted via email to Debbie Hensley.
• Two years of written and scored teaching evaluations (used by the Teaching Excellence Committee in the process) Please work with the respective Department Chair who will forward these to Debbie Hensley.
The Teaching Excellence Committee will review the nominees and make recommendations to the Dean.
Paul College Outstanding Researcher Award
This award recognizes outstanding research and scholarly contributions to the College and his or her respective field of study. The criteria of the award:
• A nomination letter (Word, PDF), submitted via email to Debbie Hensley.
• Additional information required by the committee will be obtained from the nominee.
The Paul College Intellectual Contributions Committee will review the nominees and make recommendations to the Dean.
