Valentini Kalargyrou, Ph.D. is a Fulbright scholar and Associate Professor of Hospitality Management in the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. She had teaching appointments in the US, Austria and Singapore. Her far-reaching career of more than 30 years includes academic as well as international entrepreneurship activities. Dr. Kalargyrou served in leadership positions as an entrepreneur and was in the opening teams of integrated resorts in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has extensive industry experience in human resources and casino management; specifically in diversity and inclusion. Dr. Kalargyrou outstanding and scientifically documented work on best practices in the hospitality industry, widely published in top-tier reviewed journals, has been broadly cited. Her primary research focus is on disability issues in the workplace and service operations, with an emphasis on employers’ perspectives; the business case of employing people with disabilities and social entrepreneurship; and customer attitudes and perceptions when served by employees with disabilities.
Dr. Kalargyrou is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Who's Who in Business Higher Education (WWBHE), Golden Key International, and National Scholars Honor societies and several other professional organizations; i.e., the Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE), the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Seacoast Human Resources Association (SHRA). She is on the editorial board of several distinguished academic journals.

Dr. Kalargyrou earned her B.B.A at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
