Scott Lemos Jr
Scott Lemos is a Senior Lecturer in the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics and serves as the College's Faculty Fellow in Sustainability. An environmental economist by training, his work explores how markets respond to environmental challenges and how businesses can create long-term economic, environmental, and social value.
His research has examined drinking water quality, PFAS and arsenic contamination, housing markets, agricultural markets, and the blue economy. Early in his career, he contributed to USDA-funded research on local and organic food systems, and his subsequent work has been supported by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, the New Hampshire Water Resources Research Council, and Paul College. During a recent sabbatical in Bolivia, Scott traveled throughout the country's coffee-producing regions to study entrepreneurship and sustainability across the coffee supply chain, work that is now being developed into business teaching cases.
Beyond research, Scott is committed to connecting the University with industry and the community. He is a founding board member and Treasurer of the New Hampshire Shellfish Farmers Association, collaborates on New Hampshire's blue economy initiatives, contributes to the REDC State of the Economy report, and regularly speaks to community organizations on sustainability and environmental economics. As Faculty Fellow, he works to strengthen sustainability education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and Paul College's engagement with the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
