
I honestly expected to be worked to the bone, not respected, and not trusted. It’s the way I’ve heard big bank culture is. But I was immediately proven wrong. The team was extremely welcoming to me on the first day, we would go out together after work on occasion, and I had way more face time with senior management than I ever thought. I realized that they’re looking more for people that fit well with the team rather than the extensive knowledge. That stuff can be taught as you go, but the ability to mesh with your co workers can’t really be learned. This summer he interned at JP Morgan on the middle market tech banking team.
