Tamilazhagan Ezhil completed his MBA program at UNH’s Paul College due to the valuable support of the entire admissions team.
What made you choose to study at UNH’s Paul College over others offered in the region and the world?
To be honest, it was the location. My sister’s home is a 5-hour drive from here. This was the nearest I could get in the US. Secondly, the entire admissions team. They were so helpful through the entire process, but especially Andrew Mitchell. He helped me throughout my application process. I had silly doubts and yet everyone was ready to help me with that. I didn’t know much about Paul College before I stepped in, but it’s been a month here and I already feel this is the best career decision I have ever made in my life. I’m glad that I choose Paul. If you guys ever plan to move the campus, I’m coming with you. Wherever it is. It’s an incredible place to get my MBA and gain knowledge. I didn’t really have a connection with any other universities as I did with UNH. This was meant to be.
What are you hoping to get out of the programme you are currently enrolled in?
I came with a dream to enhance my career, and already it is wide open which I can see. An MBA from Paul College is a great program, completed in 1-year and you get to places that you never dream of. I want to be a business analyst and this program is going to make me one.
Can you describe your experience as a student at the School (e.g., faculty support, facilities, clubs/extracurricular activities, study abroad experience, etc. wherever applicable)?
It is stupendous. Being from India, it was quite hard to get accustomed to the study culture and the way they carry out classes. But now I feel extremely comfortable with all the professors and my peers who are so helpful. They understand what I’m going through and help me out even before I ask.
Describe the learning culture and community at UNH. Is it something you feel is unique, that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere? If so, kindly describe in detail.
It’s very very unique. I’m not sure how rest of the US is but this place is a heaven to live in and study. There is no comparison elsewhere. I actually feel bad that my program is getting over in a year. I wish I could spend some more quality time among this community and its people.
Have there been any practical, industry or career-based experiences opened to you as a student at UNH?
There are a lot. Especially the Holloway Competition, that’s what I’m looking forward to. It’s an awesome platform for students to explore, innovate and get the best out of them and I’m going to be entered this year.
What is your most memorable UNH experience so far?
My orientation, The Browne Center, U-Day, and my classes. I have a lot. Every single day at UNH gives me a memory to sleep with and dwell over for rest of my life.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time and what have you learned from UNH that will help you reach this position?
Business architect. That’s where I want to be. I’m learning every single day from every single person I meet. And this is the platform that’s going to carry me to where I want.
What advice would you offer a prospective international student considering the UNH Peter T Paul College of Business?
Go for it. You’ll never regret your decision.
