The Center for Family Enterprise recognizes that family owned businesses are crucial to our state’s economy. Approximately 85% of businesses in the Northern New England Area are family-controlled; they employ two-thirds of the workforce and are responsible for creating the majority of the state's new jobs. Family firms outperform non-family-owned businesses in most areas including bottom line, value creation for stockholders, the capacity to create jobs, community involvement, and a commitment to continuity from generation to generation.
It is the mission of the Center for Family Enterprise to support the economic engine of family businesses in our state.
Our programming is built around providing best business practice experts, resources and advice and is centered around providing ample opportunities for members of family enterprises to meet, connect and learn from each other.
