Peter Zaimes Recognized with 2025 Paul College Excellence in Teaching Award

Peter Zaimes, lecturer in decision sciences, was formally recognized with the 2025 Paul College Excellence in Teaching Award during the UNH Faculty Excellence Awards earlier this month.

Zaimes teaches across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum — from business statistics and decision making to operations management and the sports analytics course he created after launching the student club of the same name.

Students consistently praise his ability to connect theory with real-world application. They describe him as approachable, down-to-earth, and committed to helping them succeed. Beyond the classroom, Zaimes mentors students on résumés, research, interviews, industry engagement, and career planning, and he has expanded experiential learning opportunities through sports analytics partnerships with organizations such as the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers.

Several other members of the UNH community were recognized during the awards, and Paul College recognized its faculty and staff earlier in the year.
