Robert A. Gough, Jr.
Dr. Robert Gough is President and CEO of Genovation, Inc., a global growth strategies firm that designs and implements Intelligent Decision Systems using leading technologies to provide client companies with information system tools and real-time datasets for quick-response decision making. His primary professional focus has been on identifying and developing new investment opportunities, and designing and implementing new strategic initiatives.
With 25 years of experience in management, operations, investment banking, and institutional capital markets, Dr. Gough has been principally involved with Fortune 500 decision makers, both domestically and abroad, national and international government policy makers, and dozens of emerging growth company entrepreneurs. As a senior vice president at Data Resources Inc. (DRI), Dr. Gough worked directly for DRI’s founder and President, in leading the team that designed DRI’s econometric forecasting models. Dr. Gough subsequently led several organizations in the field of business information services including being the President of Corporate Broadcasting Network, and President and CEO of Organizational Dynamics, Inc. an international management consulting company.
Dr. Gough has held senior consulting positions with a variety of international and federal organizations including the Office of the Chancellor of the Exchequer in England, The Japanese External Trade Organization, The Bundesbank, the US Department of Defense, and President Reagan’s Grace Commission. He has testified before numerous US House and Senate committees on fiscal, monetary and budgetary policies. He has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies and lectured at leading colleges and universities including Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Duke, UCLA, Berkeley, and Wellesley where he was Visiting Professor of Economics for ten years. He has been Adjunct Professor of Management at the University of New Hampshire for the past 15 years.
Dr. Gough is an alumnus of Bates College and received his Ph.D. from Duke University. He also has held or currently holds various community and board positions including at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Trustee Board at Bates College, and the Board of Advisors at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is also a Director of Windward Investment Management of Boston. He has frequently appeared on nationally televised programs such as the Lehrer News Hour, the Today Show, Good Morning America, and the CBS Evening News. He currently does radio commentary on the economy for WBZ where he also did on-air commentary for WBZ-TV for 10 years.
