A small manufacturer of precision wire and cables had a need to build capabilities in performance management, team leadership, conflict management, change leadership, and other supervisory and leadership skills. There were not a lot of resources available for formal training, so supervisors, often promoted because of their technical abilities, were struggling with their role as frontline leaders.
The Paul College of Business worked with the company to secure grant money, and designed and delivered a very cost-effective 4 day leadership program.
Evaluations were excellent, and participants have reported in follow-up interviews that they are much more confident and capable leaders. The only suggestion for improvement was: “more of our managers (at all levels) need to go through this.”
Phase two is in development.
