The University of New Hampshire contributed approximately $1.4 billion to the state's economy in academic year 2010-11, according to the results of a study UNH released Friday...The economic impact study, prepared by Ross Gittell, chancellor of the community college system of New Hampshire, and Josh Stillwagon, a doctoral candidate in economics at UNH, used a "conservative set of assumptions" to calculate UNH's direct and "ripple effect" contributions to the economy.
