Paul College Internal Newsletter

Read the monthly Newsletter on Box in the folder titled 'Paul College Shared ALL' and then 'Paul College Newsletter'.

The Paul College Internal Newsletter is one of the college’s primary venues for disseminating news about changes to academic programs, scholarly and professional achievements, events and personal news. It is published monthly during the academic year.

GUIDELINES

  • The newsletter is published the first week of a given month during the academic year.
  • Submissions are due before the 15th of each month. (Note this deadline for publication purposes.)
  • Items submitted after the 15th will be included in the following month’s newsletter.
  • All items submitted may be edited for content or style.
  • Longer items will be included in brief with a link to the full text.
  • Personal items such as births, marriages, non-work related achievements, etc., are intended to help build community and will only be published if self-submitted.
Examples

1. WHAT'S NEW?
Include information regarding new policies, academic program changes, field trips, etc., that all faculty and staff should be aware of. Include links if appropriate.

Examples:

  • A new multidisciplinary Minor in Entrepreneurship for Non-Business Majors will begin enrolling students this fall.  The minor will provide non-business students with the concepts, tools and techniques to become creative thinkers, conceptualize and identify problems and articulate problem statements, find innovative solutions to problems, and explore and seek opportunities.   • IRS Standard Mileage Rate for Business Travel will change on 1/1/14.  The USNH mileage reimbursement rate for business travel for those using a personal vehicle in the U.S. will decrease to 56.0 cents per mile driven.  Visit the USNH Financial Services website http://finadmin.usnh.edu/Travel/Pages/default.aspxfor travel information.
  • Students in the Accounting Methods class will be visiting FASB in Norwalk, CT on January 5-7.

2. RECOGNITIONS

This section includes awards, honors, promotions, recognitions, faculty/staff activities such as presentations, and other UNH-related achievements or news.

The Dean’s Staff Advisory Committee advanced an indoor bicycle storage proposal to the dean, forwarded staff recommendations on the college’s strategic plan to the Planning Committee, and forwarded a statement on the dean’s search to the Provost at its November meeting. 8. COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
